Don’t Pet the Chimera

Let’s talk about chimeras.

They’re real. And they’re a lot less majestic than the illustrations suggest. Yes, you might see a lion’s body. Yes, it might have wings. But also? Goat legs. A scorpion tail. Snake heads where snake heads shouldn’t be. Some have human eyes. One had human teeth.

I’m still recovering from that.

Here’s the thing: chimeras don’t attack. (Not always, anyway.) Sometimes they observe. Sometimes they mimic sounds—your voice, your mom’s voice, the voice of a kid calling for help. If you’re lucky, they won’t notice you. If you’re not, well… hope you didn’t look it in the third eye.

Other entities on the do-not-touch list:

  • Realm-hitched familiars
  • Miscast servitors (especially the stitched ones)
  • Cursed constructs (animated armor, dolls, mannequins)
  • Anything with more than one soul

General rule of thumb? If it looks like a creature and acts like a creature, keep your hands and your curiosity to yourself. Remember, some of these things want to be touched.

That’s how they get in.

TLDR: Not everything supernatural is a monster. But just because something isn’t threatening you doesn’t mean it’s not dangerous. Be wary.

Stay sharp. Stay Unveiled.
