The Veil Thinned Over the Plaza.

Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza lighting ceremony has always drawn a crowd. Last night it drew something else.

I was there. I saw it start around 7 PM. Cold pockets of air that had nothing to do with the November temperature. A dog on a leash that refused to move past the famous fountains, whining.

By 8 PM it was undeniable. Three separate incursions, minor but brazen—entities that would normally never risk public exposure walking openly through a crowd of thousands of Veiled civilians.

You know why they risked it? Because they could.

Six weeks ago, the world’s elite supernatural agencies, including the OHR, lost most of their operatives to Nessie at Lochan Torr an Tuill. The ones who remain are rebuilding. The entities moving through the Plaza crowd did the math. Less protection. More opportunity.

I counted zero OHR agents. Zero.

I handled what I could. I called in two favors I’d been saving. We contained it before anything serious happened. The Veiled crowd went home happy, none the wiser.

But this is what the new normal looks like. The world is less protected than it was. Get ready. This is just the beginning.

TLDR: Three incursions at the Plaza lighting ceremony last night. The entities know the OHR is depleted and they’re testing the edges. Kansas City got lucky. Next time we might not.

Stay sharp. Stay Unveiled.
